7-Eleven launches 1,000th Hong Kong store

It is rolling out a series of promotions including an instant win game.

7-Eleven has officially launched its 1,000th store in Hong Kong, which is located in the central Tokusuke-do, according to a press release. To celebrate its launch, the store rolled out a series of promotions and offers to customers.

Amongst these promotions is an instant win game, the first augmented reality lucky draw offering a range of prizes including 2,000 free 7Cafe cups, cash vouchers worth $128.75 (HK$1,000), and over $1.29m (HK$10m) in prizes. There are also “1,000 themed” promotions exclusively for Rewards members, such as exchanging 1,000 Upoints and giving away 1,000 Upoints.

Further, a retrospective exhibition outlining the story of 7-Eleven in Hong Kong was held in Central on 8 July. The exhibition showed the way from its first store in Happy Valley in 1981 to the opening of 1,000 stores.

This includes the Hello Kitty Badge Collectable Program since 2004 and the launch of Hotshot, a full-fledged Hong Kong-style treat that was said to be popular amongst students.
