Japanese banks to fund Myanmar banks
Loans will go to farmers.
Japanese banks are planning to provide loans through Myanmar's agricultural banks to help fund farming businesses.
The Myanmar Livestock Federation said the Japanese will provide both loans two and financing programs. The loans will be coursed through the Japan International Cooperation Agency or JICA that will give the loans to an agriculture bank and to the farmer.
JICA intends to meet non-government organizations to discuss political, economic and social reform processes.
A workshop to discuss the provision of agricultural loans will be held in October. Suggestions from the workshop will be considered while drafting the policy on providing assistance.
