SME loans in Taiwan rose in August

A total of NT$10.17t loans has been extended to SMEs.

Loans extended to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Taiwan rose to NT$10.17t by the end of August 2024, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

This is NT$77.4b higher compared to July.

Loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks account for 64.18% of total loans extended to all enterprises. The share is 0.22 percentage points lower compared to the end of July.

In August, the average non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of SME loans was 0.24%, the same as in July.
