CCB eyes stake in EON Capital

China Construction Bank Corporation and has approached the Malaysian Finance Ministry for permission to speak to
EON's major shareholders. The bank is said to be eyeing a stake in EON Capital.

 

A source who described the deal to be at "a very early stage," revealed that they have informed the Malaysian Finance Ministry about the proposition. So far, CCB had not yet received a response.

“There are many other departments, including the Malaysian central bank. This might even need the approval of the
prime minister. The specifics of the approval process aren't entirely clear,” the source added.
