Wong is HSBC China's new Deputy CEO and Director

HSBC Bank China appointed Helen Wong as its new Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Board with immediate effect.

Ms Wong has over 25 years of extensive commercial and investment banking experience in Greater China and the Asia-Pacific region. She joined the HSBC Group in 1992 and has served as Manager Syndicated Finance, Senior Capital Markets Manager, Head of Debt Capital Markets Greater China, and Managing Director Global Banking, Area Management Office Hong Kong.

Prior to her appointment as Deputy CEO of HSBC China, Ms Wong was based in Hong Kong and held roles in spearheading projects and new businesses that helped build HSBC's capital markets franchise in Asia. She is a key management team member in Global Banking and was responsible for the coverage of government and major Greater China corporate clients in Hong Kong.

She graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Social Sciences.
