Hong Leong Bank launches personal accident plans for households

The lender said customers can start planning for personal accident coverage for three generations from as low as $13 monthly.

Hong Leong Bank (HLB) has launched its personal accident plans for the entire household, namely Hong Leong MyChild Personal Accident Plan, Smart Protector Personal Accident Plan and Senior Personal Accident Plan.

The company said in a statement Monday these plans come with comprehensive worldwide coverage for all three generations in a typical Malaysian household.

"With rising accident rates in Malaysia, HLB sees a need to offer its customers with innovative choices for protection and financial support in the event of an accident," it said.

The company said its MyChild Personal Accident Plan offers an education allowance of RM40,000 ($12,796) while its Smart Protector Plan, suitable for those with an active lifestyle, extends coverage for accidental death and permanent disablement to activities not normally covered by conventional personal accident plans such as hiking and bungee jumping.

It said its Senior Personal Accident Plan offers paralysis allowances of up to RM160,000 ($51,184) for seniors aged 40 to 70 years.

Customers can start planning for personal accident coverage for three generations from as low as RM41 ($13.11) a month with HLB, the statement said.
