Bank Negara to establish Beijing office

Bank Negara Malaysia will put up a representative office in Beijing, China.

This will serve as an important liaison point with China's regulators and market players and facilitate the conduct of market research on China's economic and financial developments.

Governor of the People's Bank of China Zhou Xiaochuan and Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar signed an agreement to facilitate the setting up of the representative office.

The office will also contribute further to the strengthening of cooperation with the People's Bank of China, said the central bank in a statement today.
