Bank of East Asia launches Mainland account opening service for Hong Kong residents
The service is offered in 15 designated BEA branches across Hong Kong.
The Bank of East Asia (BEA) has launched a service that enables Hong Kong permanent residents to open a bank account with BEA China.
The Mainland Personal Bank Account Opening Attestation Services is offered in 15 designated BEA branches across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and New Territories. Hong Kong residents won’t need to travel to Mainland China in person in order to open an account.
Interested customers need only to bring their Hong Kong Permanent Identity Cards and Mainland Travel Permits (Home Return Permits).

Accounts will be opened at BEA China’s Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai branches.
Upon successful activation, the accounts can be linked to major Mainland mobile payment apps. Customers can manage their bank accounts via BEA China’s Cyberbanking, mobile app, and WeChat Banking.
