HSBC Amanah Malaysia expands in Shah Alam
HSBC Amanah Malaysia has expanded branches within six months with the opening of its Shah Alam branch.
It is the first locally incorporated foreign bank in Malaysia to be awarded a licence by Bank Negara Malaysia to set up an Islamic banking subsidiary.
The branch opening was led by Irene Dorner, Chairman of HSBC Amanah Malaysia, and Musa Abdul Malek, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Amanah Malaysia.
"We recognise the many business opportunities available within this vicinity – both for commercial as well as retail. Shah Alam is a well-developed city and with the new branch’s strategic location, there is no better place to make our presence felt," said Ms Dorner.
HSBC Amanah Malaysia’s first three branches in the country are located in One Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya, Juru Auto City in Penang and Ampang Point in Ampang.
