Affin Investment disburses RM2.58 M business zakat

Affin Investment Bank disbursed business zakat totalling RM2.58 million, reports Bernama News.

Bank chairman Tan Sri Yaacob Mohd Zain said close to half of the amount has been reserved for the armed forces.

"This mirrored our commitment and gratitude to serving armed forces personnel and ex-servicemen," he said when speaking at a zakat distribution event officiated by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Yaacob said the bank's financial and business performances under the leadership of Maimoonah Hussain as the managing director saw a quantum leap for three consecutive years.

"This enabled the bank to give out RM2.58 million in business zakat," he added.
