HSBC extends PayMe solution to convenience store chain Circle K

PayMe has also launched a new QR feature for payments.

HSBC has expanded its PayMe for Business app to include convenience store chain Circle K, according to an announcement.

Starting 13 August, PayMe users can now use the app at over 300 Circle K stores in the city.

PayMe for Business has also launched a new QR code function allowing for easier payments collection at merchants’ point of sale terminals. As the first merchant to adopt the new solution, Circle K staff can now conveniently scan the QR code generated on customers’ PayMe app with a POS scanner to collect funds, without having to switch between systems or enter transaction amounts separately.

The QR code will be valid for 120 seconds to ensure secure transactions. Even if the user’s mobile phone has lost internet connection temporarily, transactions can still be processed, allowing more flexibility during the checkout process.
