VietinBank's remittance service covers over 15% market share
The total amount of remittance transferred to Vietnam is estimated at about $8 billion. Of which, the total inward remittance sent to Vietnam via VietinBank reached $1.2 billion, rising 30 percent against 2009's and accounting for over 15 percent of the market share.
In early 2010, the bank launched many modern solutions and programmes with many utilities to develop the remittance service whereby transaction will be handled automatically to minimise the operation time for staff and help customers get money faster.
Customers can receive remittances at any point of transaction of VietinBank nationwide within 10 minutes. The online remittance transferring product from the US to Vietnam is known by more and more customers with the impressive turnover growth of about 200 percent against the first time of launching this product in early 2009. In 2011, this product will be expanded in other markets such as Germany, UK and Australia.
In 2011, the bank's remittance service centre will promote the VietinBank trademark to increase the turnover as well as the market share. VietinBank will continue to develop more new remittance channels from other potential overseas markets such as Middle East and Africa, and speed up money transferring services via pre-paid credit card, saving accounts, electronic wallets, and door to door remittance services. The diversification of remittance services will help customers transfer and receive money quickly and safely with low costs.
