ICICI Bank plans hiring 7,000 people in 2010

Recruits will be deployed to man new branches while declaring bonus and increments for old employees.

ICICI Bank plans to increase its headcount by hiring 5,000-7,000 people this year, a top bank official said.

"We plan to hire around 5,000-7,000 people this fiscal. We have also declared bonus and increments for our employees," ICICI Bank's Managing Director and CEO, Chanda Kochhar, told reporters after inaugurating the 2000th branch of ICICI Bank in Mumbai on Monday.

ICICI Bank has become the first private sector bank to reach this milestone, giving the bank a wide distribution reach in the country, Kochhar said.

The bank plans to add more branches and ATMs in the current fiscal, she said.
