Taiwan's Chang Hwa Bank opens Manila branch

The branch will be CHB’s 12th overseas foothold.

Taiwan’s Chang Hwa Bank (CHB) is officially opening a branch in Manila, Philippines on July 9 as part of its ongoing expansion efforts, reports Focus Taiwan.

The Manila branch will be CHB's 12th overseas operation following branches and representative offices in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Myanmar.

CHB aims to capitalise on rapid economic growth in the country which has clocked in at a strong 6% in the past eight years.

CHB Chairman Chang Ming-daw (張明道) led a delegation of bank executives to Manila to attend a reception held to celebrate the official opening of the branch Tuesday.
