Dimsum bonds generate RMB203.7 billion in first half of 2014
Thanks to record-breaking issuance in Q1.
Dimsum bonds reached RMB203.7 billion during the first half of 2014, witnessing a record semi-annual period.
According to data from Thomson Reuters about Hong Kong ECM and bonds preliminary data for the first half of 2014, the development marks an 86.9 percent increase from the first half of 2013 as number of primary issuance grew 76.7 percent.
Thomson Reuters also noted the growth was driven by a record-breaking issuance during the first quarter of 2014 when proceeds reached the highest ever quarterly level worth RMB129.7 billion (US$21.2 billion).
Dimsum bond proceeds during the second quarter of 2014 totaled RMB74.0 billion (US$11.9 billion), a 42.9 percent sequential decrease from the first quarter of 2014.
