Celent's Eiichiro Yanagawa to take the floor on open APIs at ABF's Digital & Open Banking Conference
He will tackle the latest trends, emerging threats, and opportunities in digital banking.
Eiichiro Yanagawa, senior analyst at Celent, will be speaking at Asian Banking & Finance’s inaugural Digital & Open Banking Conference on 27 November 2018 in Hong Kong.
In an exclusive interview with ABF, Eiichiro outlined how new business frameworks affect banking and wealth management. He will focus on open application programming interfaces (APIs) and its impact on Japanese banks and FSIs. Eiichiro will also talk about the Amended Banking Act and its policies of collaboration between banks and “Third Party Providers.”

Throughout his career, Eiichiro focused on IT strategy issues in the Japanese and Asian banking and financial industries paying attention to three areas - innovation, digital, and legacy and ecosystem transformation.
Before being part of Celent, he was appointed as the chief manager of the Financial Global Solutions Division and the Regional Bank Financial Solutions Division at NEC Corporation in Tokyo. Eiichiro was the person behind the development of NEC’s core banking system, strategic marketing planning, and consulting on financial institution systems.
He also used to be the general manager of the Financial Services Division at NEC Corporation of America in New York where he worked on the development of IT strategies and advising clients on what software packages to choose.
