OCBC expands AI voice banking services with Google
Customers can now inquire about OCBC’s services through a Google Assistant.
OCBC has rolled out its AI-powered voice banking services in partnership with Google, enabling anyone with a smartphone or a Google Home device to inquire about the bank’s various product and service offerings.
Customer inquiries may range from general banking questions on mortgages, education and retirement loans, financial market updates, unit trust prices and foreign exchange rates which will be made available on the ‘talk to OCBC’ feature via the Google Assistant, according to a press release.
Google Assistant will provide instant answers to customer inquiries which will then be followed up by a customer service representative if the user is keen on applying for any of the bank’s services.
“This is the new digital – conversational, smarter and simpler access to banking,” said OCBC head of e-business in Singapore Aditya Gupta. “For our customers to be able to interact with OCBC services by simply speaking to AI assistants on their smartphones and smart home devices is an exciting development, and an important one as we shape the bank of the future.”
OCBC earlier rolled out a voice-powered conversational banking in its app through Apple’s virtual assistant Siri enabling customers to initiate e-payments, check account balances and make funds transfers.
