GRG to install Palm Vein authentication technology to Ziraat Bank
Palm Vein readers will be installed in all recycling ATMs supplied to Ziraat Bank.
According to GRGbanking, the installation is based on the contract the two companies recently signed.
According to the contract, all GRG recycling ATMs supplied to the bank will be equipped with the technology and 1505 pieces of palm vein readers are going to be installed in the Ziraat Bank project. The Bank has currently 2,900 ATM machines and GRGbanking is considering to implement the technology on these machines all of these.
Palm vein authentication technology uses the vascular patterns of an individual’s palm as personal identification data. Compared with a finger, a palm has a broader and more complicated vascular pattern and thus contains a wealth of differentiating features for personal identification. The technology offers contactless authentication and provides a hygienic and non invasive solution, thus promoting a high-level of user acceptance.
It is the first time for the Turkish bank to introduce this technology for customer identification. The field testing of the device was carried out in December last year. GRG’s solution of implementing these palm vein readers has gained high trust from the bank. It only took several weeks for GRG from the beginning of the design stage till the end of implementation.
“The successful cooperation between GRGBanking and Zaraat Banking on Palm Veins Authentication technology will help to boost the adoption of the biometric technology in the financial industry worldwide.” Said Dr. Eduardas Vaigauskas, General Manager of GRG Banking Equipment(HK) Co., Limited
